Alan sickbert leadership scholarship

Each year a representative committee selected by the Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress will award three $1,000 scholarships to Hamline undergraduate students (1 Sophomore, 1 Junior, and 1 Senior) in Honor of Alan Sickbert and his leadership as Dean of Students. 

 

Dean Patti Klein will chair the selection committee, and committee members will include two HUSC members, two staff members, two CLA faculty, and one HSB faculty.

eligibility 

1. Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher;

2.Passed an evaluation of student conduct probation status;

3.Turned in an application to the Assistant Dean of Students on or before March 29th

 

4.Is a part-time or full-time registered Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate student.

Requirements 

1.A Completed Cover Sheet 

 

2.One page resume with current and past leadership positions, responsibilities of said positions, and any other information deemed important

 

3.A letter of support from one individual who served as an advisor, supervisor, or similar role during time spent as a leader. Only one letter of support will be considered, and if multiple letters are submitted, then the Assistant Dean of Students will randomly select one to send to the selection committee.

 

  1. A separate personal statement answering one or more of the following questions: 

  1. What is leadership?

  2. How does one become a leader?

  3. Are leaders born or created?

This statement should be no more than four pages, double spaced, size 12 font. If an application exceeds this limit, it shall be at the discretion of the Chair of the selection committee to accept or deny the application.
